The worst chicken tikka masala I've had in a long while. The meat clearly wasn't grilled (basic first step) before being placed in the sauce. And the sauce sucked. 2 stars for the tandoori chicken, which was average.

Food was O.K. nothing special and not worth the money. You are better off ordering from a indian place around lexington in the 20's. The delivery guy was extremely rude! He looked at the tip I gave him on the paper, and was like "Really? Thats all ur giving me, 2 Dollars?? and kept sighing, saying its freezing out " Made me feel extremely uncomfortable.

Very fast delivery, but the food was only so-so. My sag paneer didn't have too much flavor.

We ordered from here frequently. It was always excellent, however they have recently raised their prices and the same order which cost $30 is now $38. Too many other options available to justify that increase.

Food arrived warm-ish, delivery guy was rude, food tasted mediocre. Could do much better for same price or cheaper. The free dessert thing was really good though.

worst meal ever delivered. really, everything about it sucked.

TASTELESS. The food smelled good and came hot though. It also isn't really that authentic, if you care about that. They forgot my garlic nan and the delivery guy said "next time you get two". I said "no" and then he took a nan out of another order and put it in my bag, lol...

Great indian food. Cheap and consistent.

Not authentic. Quality is very poor and it tasted horrible. It's possible that the food was stale.

Huge piece of chicken in my vegetarian curry. Extremely angry and upset.

Pretty good! They sometime forget condiments, but the quality is fantastic.

saag was good. tikka masala completely flavorless.

greasy, unimpressive

Large portion sizes and my chicken korma was delish. I also liked all the sauces that came with the bread. Delivery took around 35-40 mins.

Raj Mahal is one of my favorite restaurants to order food from. I've had positive experiences every time, the food is always delicious. It's also a lovely restaurant to dine in at.

Bland, greasy, and too expensive for the low quality.

Delicious vegetarian options. Big fan of the chana sag and sag paneer.

The samosa for $2.75 actually comes with 2 samosas, which they don't specify on the menu so I ordered too many, which worked out bc I had leftovers for lunch. Love this place but where's my free firni?! (Free with $10+ order)

By far the best Indian food I have had in Manhattan. Love the chicken tikka masala and saag paneer.

Raj Rock Star! loved the tandori (both the shrimp and chicken), Chapati was yummy, the show stopper was the Aloo Matar Gobi! The Aloo was spiced just right and had plenty of veggies and great texture. Rock on Raj!

Best Indian delivery in the East Village/Lower East Side. Highly recommend the Bergum Bortha eggplant dish and their samosas. I've tried all the others on 6th street, and this is by far the best!

We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Lamb Saag, meat Samosas, and the Lamb Skewers appetizers. Unfortunately, this was a relatively poor Indian food experience. The Chicken Tikka Masala was a particular disappointment. The masala sauce tasted like it came from a Chef Boyardee can, and the chicken relatively tough compared to most places. The lamb chunks in the Lamb Saag entree were tender, but the dish felt underflavored and didn't hold together the way that even middling lamb saag does when it's made authentically and correctly. This felt like lamb chunks stewed in a spinach sauce; REAL Lamb Saag done well feels authentically Indian, and the spinach and lamb and spices should interact in a way that elevates the whole dish. The meat samosas were average, but not terrible (at least it had adequate salt), and the skewered lamb was again, just middling and forgettable. Won't be ordering here again.

I ordered lamb, but beef was delivered. I checked brown rice but white rice was delivered and no call to let me know in advance. When I called the restaurant to let them know. The manager was rude and argued with me. I will never order from this place again. Furthermore, this place being in the little india, the quality of the food was less than mediocre.

My favorite Indian delivery spot in the East Village. I always get their chicken Tikka Masala, and I always get it very spicy. Highly recommended if you like spicy foods, because it really does have a kick. Meat samosas are also high quality in terms of freshness. They are cooked well, and not soggy upon arrival. Their naan is pretty standard. Alu paratha is the way to go--though can be quite filling by itself!

LOTS of food, and it's DELICIOUS. I have a small Raj Mahal addition. I definitely have to limit how many times I let myself order from here. Love the shrimp byriani!

There’s no shortage of mid-quality Indian restaurants on the block, but Raj has been so good that me and my gf have seen no reason to try any of the others. For what you’re getting and the price you’re getting it at, they hit the mark. Yes, Brick Lane is a step up, but it’s obviously in a different class than the other restaurants on Curry Row. Raj Mahal is perfect for a comforting Indian meal in the middle of the week. All the classics are done well – we tend to go for the Malai Kofta and Lamb Vindaloo, but I’m sure you can’t go wrong with anything else.

I love this place I've been going for years. The food is super cheap and delicious and PLENTIFUL. I'm very happy that I finally moved to within delivery range

I had sag paneer and chicken tikka masala. Portions were large, but not as flavorful or fresh tasting as I would want. Seems like food was cooked a long time ago and reheated.

They give you lots of food, but it is bland. There are better Indian places.

Raj mahal is very good for indian food. Their customer service is also excellent. I ordered something that didn't seem like i thought it would, and they brought me a new entree immediately, and were polite about it.

The naan bread had mouse turds baked into it. Also the delivery guy was extremely weird. He called then he delivered then he came back to the door twice for no apparent reason. He then lingered in front of the building for a while.

everything was drowning in oil and the beef in my samosas was the lowest grade of beef, basically oily dog food

this is the first time i've ever written a review about anything on the internet. but i was absolutely compelled to issue a warning: the food here is GROSS, plain and simple. as an example: the chicken tikka masala had a 2" layer of oil on top of the dish. the chicken itself was hard, did not taste fresh and was cut into small strips [not cubed, as it should be]. i have no doubt that these pieces were remnants from the plates of eat-in diners who hadn't [or couldn't!] finish their plates. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Raj Mahal has been spectacular every time. Delivery is quick, food is hot, and all of it rather tasty. If you order enough they throw in double the extras (like dessert) without asking. Definitely recommended.

Delivery time was decent, but the food was kind of greasy and flavorless. Also did NOT come with bread. Will definitely be going with a different place next time I have a craving for indian.

Chicken liver poori was dry, tough and flavorless. The chana masala and shrimp bhindi were flavorful.

Food was OK for low end Indian. Chicken was tough and overcooked. It seems that you get what you pay for and here, you get cheap, mediocre food.

The best Indian food of its kind, I wish they didn't give you all the extras however.
